Bhakri pizza

Bhakri Pizza

I have innovated the traditional Maharashtrian Bhakri ( jawar flat bread ), pithla ( staple food of rural Maharashtra ), Pokla sabji ( green amarnth leafy vegetable ) into healthy n lipsmacking pizza. The omly addition to above is the cheese,  chopped onions n ketchup

Ingredients

Ready Bhakri
Pokla Veg ( take in a skillet some oil, when hot add crushed garlic, chopped green chillies add pokla leaves,  cover n steam for 1 minute n remove )
Pithla ( dilute besan ( gram flour ) with water to liquidy paste add chopped onions to hot oil, after tempering of garlic, green chillies, mustard, jeera, hing n curry leaves. Once onions are translucent add little chilli powder to get that red colour n sharp taste. Than add the besan paste. Sauté till cooked. Add water if required to keep it to dropping consistency. Make sure no lumps are formed.
Chopped onions
Chopped Coriander
Julians of capsicum n tomatoes
Grated cheese
Tomato sauce or ketchup

Method:

Place Bhakri on a flat surface.
Take generous quantity of pithla and spread it evenly on bhakri.
Top it with pokla sabji
Now garnish it with top up of chopped onions, Julians of capsicum n tomatoes and chopped coriander.
Give a final topping of grated cheese.
Dot it with butter and ketchup
You can finish this in a oven or on grill pan till the bhakri is crisp from below.
Serve hot.

Very healthy pizza as all the ingredients used are home made. Try it and let me know how you like it.
